Cultural Association DiospyrusIn order to handle donations, finances and bureaucracy, Cappella Artemisia, in collaboration with the ensemble Concerto Palatino (directed by Bruce Dickey and specialized in the repertoire for cornetts and trombones from the 16th and 17th centuries), has created the non-profit Cultural Association Diospyrus. According to the statute of the association, its purpose is to "promote the activities in the fields of early and contemporary music, both instrumental and vocal, with a special emphasis on the repertoires of the 16th, 17th and 20th centuries. It is interested in furthering the knowledge of early and contemporary music and promoting cultural activities such as concerts, recordings, conferences, publications, master classes and other events which benefit these art forms." Donations made be made to support the activities of these ensembles through Diospyrus. Please give generously!
Siate generosi!
We are happy to announce that our Kickstarter fundraising project was successful! We raised over $4000 which helped finance 2 recording projects of music composed by and for Italian nuns of the 16th and 17th centuries. The first was dedicated to Christmas music and was released in December 2011. The second recording of music for Holy Week was recorded in summer 2013 and was released in February 2014. Cappella Artemisia wants to thank all the incredibly generous people whose contributions helped to make these recordings of music in the convents possible. Thank you all so much!!
